Wen: The Full Review.

Remember this post on Wen? Many of you have been asking me how my test drive went. Well, I have given it my full evaluation, and I am ready to divulge.

Let me start by saying that my hair "baseline" was way off due to Lice Fest '10. My amazing hairdresser Mikala told me that she had never seen my hair so "funky." I guess putting 6 doses of pesticides on your hair isn't the best thing that you can do for your hair. I digress....

The first day I used it I was in love. I thought I'd never go back to shampoo. After day 2 and 3 I was needing a shampoo intervention. (I think a lot of it depends on your hair type.) I have very fine hair, just a lot of it. What I liked about Wen was that the first day that I would use it I would get a ton of compliments on my hair. My generally limp hair had a ton of volume, and almost felt thicker. But after that day I looked like a grease ball.

What I didn't like about Wen is that you are forced to wash your hair every day. I am an every-other day girl, so this did not make me happy. I also didn't love the smell. It's not a bad smell, but I don't feel like it is scented enough. After a few hours I felt like my hair smelled dirty.

So there it is. I opted to allow them to ship my second month's worth, but I am going to cancel after that. I figure since I will only use it once or twice a week, I'll be stocked up for a full year!

  1. Ah, then dive into Philip B. Russian Amber shampoo. He now was a smaller size that makes trying it easier. I too have fine hair, and lots of it. This might get you the two day wow you're going for.
