Apparently Father's Day in Austrailia falls in September. How do I know this? Because an Ikea store in Sydney created a MÄNLAND to honor Dads down under at the beginning of this month. What is MÄNLAND you ask? If any of you are like me, you are well aware of SMÄLAND. Think of MÄNLAND as a playroom for your full-grown kids.
Complete with hot dogs, chips, beverages, video games, couches and TV's and even massages. Much like SMÄLAND, you drop off your man-child and receive a beeper. (Can we talk about the fact that you can get NOTHING done at Ikea in 30 minutes??? I drop my kids off and my beeper starts going nuts after I grab a cart and a measuring cup. It takes me 45 minutes to navigate my way back to SMÄLAND... ) Anywho, when their 30 minutes of playtime is up, your beeper will start blowing up and you can go back and retrieve your lil' guy.
Now, Ikea.. I have two questions for you:
1.) When is MÄNLAND coming to the US?
2.) When can we extend the 30 minute time limit?

I am personally a fan of the first image. Their forced attempt to emulate American fathers. Obviously they sit in front of the TV cheering relentlessly with a plate of oversized hot dogs in comparison to their bun. Hilarious!
