Happy Birthday Mom.
My mother would have been 67 on Sunday. It's hard to beleive she's gone almost seven years. I still miss her so very much.

Testing Paint Colors.
You all saw the pictures of E's room after our paint party. Well, our house is a bit of a sh$tshow right now as there are paint swatches all over the place. It's been this way for over a month but I am hoping to get the painters out next week. Fingers crossed. Some exciting changes in the works!

Color Me Cupcakes.
I am not much of a baker, but I came across these instructions for custom cupcake colors and couldn't help but share. If anyone would like to throw a baker's dozen my way... feel free!

Headed to Austin.
I am getting ready to board another flight to Austin. There is a lot of work packed into this trip. I hope to hit some of my favorite spots, but I am not optimistic.

Fashion Friday: On My Radar.
With a hint of Summer in the air, I am feeling antsy to update my wardrobe. A girl can dream, can't she?

Strawberry Hills.
It's hard to beleive that my baby is turning 4 on May 1. This year (of course, after ordering a ton of invites, etc) in an effort to prevent me from having a nervous breakdown, we have decided to scale down and are just having a few little girls. She chose Strawberry Shortcake as her theme. I opted out of making the cards myself this year (Remember this post on balance?) and ordered these invitations from Belly Bean Cards. I have had them sitting on my desk for probably two months, and finally sent them out last week. Aren't they adorbs?
I did line some envelopes from Paper-Source to spruce them up a bit. It's easy! Learn how to here. The colors were a perfect match.

Stopping to Smell the Flowers.
As of late, my life has been crazy. Like, seriously, crazy. I am stressed beyond belief and trying to find a way to find a balance, especially for my girls. Yesterday morning, my almost-4-year old girl wanted to go out and pick a flower for her teacher. Of course, I was late (as usual) but I stopped and thought to myself "If I don't take this moment in now, when will I?" I strive very hard (or at least that is my intention) to make sure that my girls are kind and considerate, and that is exactly the behavior that Lou was demonstrating. Of course, if I start to think about the amount of times that our schedule or life gets in the way of that my head might explode. I would never want my girls to think that there is anything more important than them... but unfortunately, sometimes my behavior shows otherwise. So, here's to a new, calmer me and training myself how to stop and smell the flowers.

Happy to Inspire.
While perusing on Pinterest I came across this picture.
Reminded me a lot of this
As it turns out, Shannon of GoogieMomma saw this picture of Lou's room and used it as her inspiration to redesign her daughters' room.
I am so happy that my work was able to inspire someone. Shannon did a great job on her daughters' room. Check it out for yourself here.

Fashion Friday: H & M Conscious Collection
I am loving the Spring Conscious Collection from H & M. All made of 100% organic cotton and recycled hemp. A small step in the fashion industry's attempt to create more sustainable, green products. All of these pieces went on sale yesterday so get them while you can!

Painting Party.
As my little E Burger is quickly becoming a tweener (at the ripe old age of 6 1/2) she wants to redecorate her room. I think someone's nose got bent out of shape with all of the attention that Lou's Room has gotten. She has picked the color purple and we decided to have a paint party to test out a few techniques.
(That's her BFF, Anika)

A Little Color.
I am still digging myself out of the black hole of emails from being gone for 9 days. But I wanted to leave you with a little bit of color this hump day. How about this gorgeous table from Eddie Ross?

The Happiest Friggin' Place on Earth.
After our Spring Break plans blew up, my sister was kind enough to let the girls and I crash their Spring Break. The girls were so happy to be with their cousins and made memories that will last a lifetime.
We planned to spend three days at Disney, but after two full days I couldn't take any more. Lou and I went to Dad's house while E stayed with Karen's family to brave Hollywood Studios. Word to the wise: Don't EVER go Disney on Spring Break. I think that we maybe got on 4 rides each day. Although it is the "Happiest Place on Earth" I have never been happier than when I left Orlando. We had to laugh as we left the park at 11:00 the last night everyone looked absolutely MISERABLE. There were a few bright moments, and they made it all worth it.
This trip has validated what I already know about myself. I hate crowds, waiting and long drives. I am more of a sit and relax on the beach kind of girl. And after escaping Orlando, we were able to get in a little R & R.
And then there was the dreaded 14 hour drive home. Just so you know, there is no "off" button on this one. Uggggg.....
